Iain, never too sure where to start because there are so many positive aspects, firstly I have enjoyed every second of working with Iain, he is one of the nicest people I know, however this does not take away from his many skills, he is creative, he is bold, he is not afraid to try something new.  He is strategic and just seems to know exactly what to do.  Iain's ability to build relationships internally and externally is commendable and he will create relationships for life hence he brings with him a whole portfolio of connections. ABOUT ME

A BIT

ABOUT ME.

Born and bred in the industry, hospitality management was a natural career choice for me, I began life as a commis chef at the age of 13.  With a specialised hospitality and business education at Manchester Metropolitan University under my belt, the first stop on my adventure was to the Lake District to start my career in a luxury country house hotel seeding my operational standards to a 4 Red Star and 3 Rosette standard. 

 

The years following include highlights such as travelling around the world with Hard Rock Cafe visiting gateway cities and luxury resorts. I progressed from operations to marketing with with a natural eye for detail and creative flair.  I enjoyed living in central London for  ten years, however I have now embarked on an adventure to Devon to open our own award winning B&B, One Drake Road with my Husband.  

Currently employed as Marketing Director for IMO car wash, 12 countries, 700+ locations.

This is about Me.

Iain is a well rounded bright, strategic, creative and commercial marketer and a natural hospitality all-rounder.

Iain has developed his skills from small team and global marketing environments; this means he has been responsible for developing and implementing annual marketing strategies and brand calendars, supporting restaurant openings and refurbishments, delivering new menu launches, driving footfall through local marketing initiatives and overall driving sales through the execution of creative plans. 

In addition Iain gets involved in driving the PR strategy, evaluating and developing corporate websites and delivering viral marketing campaigns whilst using his insights to ensure the company is well equipped to meet the needs of their consumers. 

He leads with energy and passion together with a broad role coupled with real scope and ceases all opportunities to make an impact. He adopts a 'can do' attitude and comes from a high volume vibrant restaurant background. He has a proven track record of delivering profitability and market share through the execution of successful marketing campaigns orchestrated by strong interpersonal skills to manage multiple stakeholders within the companies he has represented and the wider management teams. He has the ability to think on his feet and drive initiatives by utilising a collaborative and open style, his essential ingredients to success. 

All in all Iain offers any company a fantastic opportunity to work with a passionate marketer who thrives in the fast paced and dynamic restaurant environment.

COVID Lockdown launch project.

A two-month freelance project to successfully get a business open during lockdown, produce a design statement for the project and refocus the management team post Covid-19.

The Design Statement that was presented to the family and executive team is available to view via the pdf viewer.

Built in 1752, now an award winning Georgian townhouse

boutique hotel in Devon's world heritage town of Tavistock, on the edge of Dartmoor and Cornwall.

Owned and operated by myself and my husband Jack.

Since purchasing the house in November 2018 we have refurbished the grade two listed house into a boutique hotel with six bedrooms including a two-bedroom holiday apartment.

We have achieved a Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Award, Hotels.com Exceptional 10, Booking.com Travellers Choice Award of 9.8, Travelmyth Top 10 in Tavistock, and we are   five star rated on Tripadvisor.

We are now embarking on building a two-bedroom house from an old garage workshop that is located adjacent to the house.

We are looking for our second property and are advising similar properties on how to reimagine their property to attract a new demographic and increased business with online travel agents, engaging social media and smart local marketing.
